Weekly Update

March 24, 2023

Sophomore Parents-All students in grade 10 will take the PreACT on April 18 during periods 1-4, all sophomores will eat lunch 5th period that day. This assessment is a great tool for academic feedback and to help students prepare for the ACT junior year!

Freshman Parents-Junior Achievement will be at school teaching about business ethics for all freshman on April 18 during 1st period.

All sophomores will take the PreACT on April 18th. We will test during periods 1-4 and all students will eat 5th period. Students only need to bring a pencil and a calculator to their assigned testing room. The PreACT is an excellent practice for the ACT as the format and scoring are aligned. Students will get feedback on their strengths and use the results to further prepare for the ACT. Students who plan to take the ACT are encouraged to wait until they have completed most of algebra II and as much English as possible, usually the spring of the student's junior year.

Thank you to those who filled out our survey (or attempted to). I apologize for the technology problems with the Google Form. It isn't too late to fill out the Parent Meeting Feedback Form if you haven't already. If you cannot access the form and would care to share your feedback about the parent meetings I would welcome a call or email! We are hoping to make the parent meetings as useful to you as possible so we are considering:

  • lunch time or evening
  • do you access the website
  • do you access the recordings
  • would you be interested in a morning coffee meeting in addition to the parent meetings that have specific topics

We also surveyed the seniors this week to get a feel for their postsecondary plans! We will be following up with the seniors who indicated that they would like to meet with us. We are here to work with the seniors through the end of the year and support them as needed!
